Our Office is Growing: Meet Angela Njoroge

Spending her formative years in Nairobi, Kenya, Angela Njoroge grew up in different countries before she landed in Harlem seven years ago to pursue her studies and career. Shortly after graduating from the Spitzer School of Architecture at the City University of New York, Angela joined ESKW/Architects in the Fall of 2022. Her studio thesis focused on designing an affordable housing tower around the World Trade Center, which exposed her to the rigorous process of researching zoning codes and laws, air-rights acquisitions, and local demographics. Coincidentally, Angela is currently working on 1185 River Avenue, a 19-story, affordable housing tower. She is looking forward to mastering her understanding of affordable housing and hopes to learn more about school and aquarium design.

Angela’s travels, paired with her childhood penchant for math and an obsession with art, origami, and dollhouses, shaped her appreciation for the built environment and inspired her to see her designs realized.
