The Bridge-Inwood is a 14-story, 160,600 SF mixed-use building designed to blend supportive and affordable housing with essential community services. Of the 181 residential units, 60% are reserved for supportive housing managed by The Bridge, while the remaining 40% are affordable. The building's design addresses the challenge of maximizing residential units while accommodating a state-of-the-art community facility. At the heart of this facility is a double-height, wide-span basketball court that meets competitive standards, providing a vital recreational space for the local community. Operated by the neighboring Manhattan Bible Church, the community center also features a welcoming lobby with seating and restrooms, ensuring a comfortable experience for all users.
The building’s 1st and 2nd floors are dedicated to a community health clinic where The Bridge will relocate its medical offices, which provide 4 different outpatient clinic programs. The 2nd floor, accessible through the clinic, includes therapeutic amenities like an activity room and teaching garden balcony. The residential portion of the building, from the 3rd to the 14th floor, is designed to promote community interaction. The ground floor lobby has a security desk and spacious mailbox area and bike storage room. Communal spaces, including a laundry room, computer/library room, and community room with a warming pantry, are clustered on the 3rd floor, with direct access to an outdoor terrace.
Additional terraces on the 11th and 12th floors, created by strategic setbacks, offer residents open-air spaces to relax and connect. The building’s setbacks on higher floors help it blend into the surrounding low- to mid-rise neighborhood, while sloping entry sequences provide welcoming and accessible access to the ground floor, which is elevated above flood levels.
