PS 108 X. Bronx
Accommodating the growing number of elementary school children in New York City, the NYCSCA Capacity Program is providing additional seats at PS 108 X in the Bronx. Located along Neill Avenue in the Indian Village neighborhood, the existing 3-story school dates back to 1937. The existing building is registered with the State Historic Preservation Office with handsome cast stone and bronze details. Therefore, the new building details draw from and are inspired by, the existing art deco motifs both inside and out. The new building provides a relocated covered entrance, main office, medical and guidance suites, and additional Pre-Kindergarten through 5th-grade classrooms. To support the full school population, special spaces in the new building include a Music Room; a new Kitchen and Student Dining room; and a new double height Gymatorium located on the top floor.
