As the architects of Charles B. Wang Community Health Center’s first major space on Baxter Street in 1971, the Chinatown Health Center in the Chung Pak building on Walker Street, and the existing Charles B. Wang Community Health Center on Canal Street, we’re honored to provide the Health Center with a new health care facility in Flushing, Queens.
Located on 40th Road and College Point Boulevard, Healthview is a new construction, New York State-licensed Article 28, federally qualified, ambulatory health care facility. The 6-story, 80,000 SF building houses one level of dental care on the second floor, three clinical levels on floors three through five, and one level for administration, consultation, and education on the sixth floor. Two levels of parking are provided in the cellar and on the first floor. Floor to ceiling glazing extending from the first-floor lobby to the sixth floor brings in daylight to each floor’s open waiting area and reception desk. The shiplap formed architectural concrete at the base of the building contrasts with the subtle texture of the terracotta-colored, scored EIFS cladding the façade. Since the site was wrapped around the adjacent property, we designed the building as an articulated series of masses that would integrate with any future building.
