The Earl Monroe New Renaissance Charter Basketball High School

Located in the South Bronx at the corner of East 153rd Street and Elton Avenue, the new 5-story building for the historic Earl Monroe New Renaissance Charter Basketball High School will feature contemporary spaces designed to promote an enriching and welcoming learning environment. Envisioned as a revitalizing anchor for the community, the new building will have an inviting, grand corner entrance and vibrant façade showcasing the activity and energy within the building. Recessed and articulated red brick detailing at the entrance will connect the grand entrance and double height lobby to the human scale. Projected glazing panels at the second floor highlight the Library and Gymnasium linking the school’s moto (“A ball and a book can change the world”) in three dimensions.
