Breaking Ground at the Barbara Kleiman Men’s Shelter

Marking the first phase of the redevelopment of the Greenpoint Hospital Campus into Kingsland Commons, the Barbara Kleiman Men’s Shelter will transform the Campus’s former nurse’s residence into a 60,000 SF, 200-bed shelter for single men. With services provided by Project Renewal, the shelter will provide occupational therapy and employment services to equip the residents with the tools to live independently.

Over the last 10 years, our partnership with Project Renewal has yielded several impactful projects including, the shelter at 4380 Bronx Boulevard, the Diversion Center, a crisis facility in Manhattan, and more recently, the affordable and supportive housing development, Bedford Green House Phase I and II. Cheers to the start of a new journey to revitalize community by bringing shelter and services to underserved New Yorkers.
