Design for Community Wellness: Article 28 Clinics

Our experience with several Article 28 health centers across the five boroughs has taught us that a patient or visitor’s movement through the building should feel natural, inviting, and calm, with spaces becoming increasingly private as one moves from reception to waiting area to exam room. We achieve this by designing clear wayfinding and circulation paths, waiting areas that do not feel anonymous, and carving out spaces for conversation that afford varying levels of privacy.
