Color & Bronx Community Charter School

Color plays an important role at the Bronx Community Charter School. The school opened its doors in 2012 and now accommodates grades K-8.

Grade-specific nooks announce the entrance to each grade cluster providing an ancillary learning space for each classroom. The class clusters share an accent color floor which trails out into the corridor, and the shared partition between the two grades is painted the accent color. When students interviewed the architects, they asked about the painted wall and were delighted and astonished to learn that this is the connecting wall to the other class!
