After / Before: Sedgwick Houses Entrances

We renovated seven residential lobbies of a 1950s NYCHA development in the Bronx to include ADA access while meeting visibility and security requirements. The solution featured an internal 32-foot ramp around a mailbox enclosure, creating a bay window for visibility and night-time light. The entrance was offset to a single door for security, with an extended canopy for better lighting and building identification. Removing the interior vestibule opened the lobby for social interaction and added space for a part-time tenant patrol desk, enhancing both gathering and access control functions.
