Extending their commitment to affordable housing in Crown Heights, SHF and the Beechwood Organization are partnering on the development of Weeksville NCP. The new construction will be eight (8) stories and will provide 45 units of affordable family and senior housing. Although currently the site is vacant, the surrounding neighborhood has a proud and rich history. The design of the new building honors that history by embracing opportunities for expressive geometry and art. A chevron pattern in the facade material and ornamental metal screening establishes a dynamic motif for the identity of the building. Warm wood panels in the lobby and on the residential corridors compliment the strong geometry. The rear yard has multiple levels of gathering space with a grill area and separate gated children’s playground.
